Recommended Goal: Complete by March 24th
The first thing you need to do to host a YouthTrain is find a space to host the event...it should be able to accomodate 10 to 25 people (or more if you're going to host a big one!).
YouthTrain starts with a 20-minute training video that you'll download before the evening. Your space should also have the ability to show the training video so everyone can comfortably watch it.
For the second part of the evening, you'll join a live event of a panel discussion happening in Washington DC that your YouthTrain will participate in. You can do either one of two things:
- Join a webcast...which means you'll need a T1 or broadband internet connection in the room (preferably an ethernet connection, not wireless) and a way to project the webcast from your computer onto a wall or screen in a way that everyone can comfortably watch it
- Dial-in through a conference call...and listen to the discussion over the phone...this means having a phone with a speakerphone that is loud enough everyone will be able to hear
Most importantly, make sure you reserve the space and the projector equipment (if you need it!) Some potential options for spaces include classrooms, student centers, or conference rooms. Once you have found a space, fill out the information below...
